Great Mountain Pasture

Spring in Our Mountains

I feel the wind on my skin
and I smell honeysuckles in the air.
In the distance, I hear the birds
chirp,chirp,chirping
saying " Good morning,Sister. Spring is here."

The moist grass crushing softly beneath
my moccasins from the dew of the early morning.
Listen,listen,listen closely.
You can almost hear the rush of angel wings
escorting in another peaceful, beautiful day.

Creator, thank you for all Your beauty
and wonder You let us enjoy
each day as we go on our way
picking fresh blackberries, or wading in the
rushing waters of the river
that flows from these grand mountains.

Ah, yes, Spring is here.
I feel it in the smoke from our family campfire
and sense the beginning of another wonderful day.
